The Odyssey

The Odyssey follows the life of Jacques-Yves Cousteau, a pioneer of underwater exploration. While living in the Mediterranean with his wife, Simone, and their two sons, Cousteau feels a drive for adventure and progress that leads him to explore the oceans using his own underwater breathing invention. As he transforms into an international celebrity, a conflict develops between him and his son, Philippe. While the father focuses on exploration and fame, Philippe becomes concerned with the environmental destruction of the seas. The two eventually attempt to reconcile their differences during a dangerous expedition to Antarctica.
