She's Out of My League

Kirk Kettner works security at an airport and has little confidence in himself, especially after being dumped by his ex-girlfriend Marnie. When Molly, a successful and strikingly attractive woman, shows interest in him, Kirk is stunned, and so are his friends and family, who openly doubt the relationship can last. Convinced she is far above his level, Kirk tries everything he can think of to keep from losing her.

The comedy was directed by Jim Field Smith, the first of two features he directed, followed by Butter in 2012, from a screenplay by Sean Anders and John Morris. Jay Baruchel plays Kirk, with Alice Eve as Molly and Lindsay Sloane as Marnie; T.J. Miller, Nate Torrence and Mike Vogel appear among the credited cast of 64.

Made for about 20 million dollars, the film took in roughly 50 million worldwide, a solid return on its budget. Audience response was mild rather than enthusiastic, with an IMDb rating of 6.4 from around 153,000 votes and a TMDB rating of 6.5 from over 2,400 votes. A critics' rating of 5.7 from 133 reviews places professional reviewers close to the audience averages, so the film drew a similar, lukewarm reaction from both groups.
