Max Keeble's Big Move

Max Keeble is a seventh grader who has become a target for bullies at his school, and for a principal who makes his life difficult as well. When his parents announce that the family is moving away, Max realizes he has nothing left to lose and sets out to settle scores with everyone who has tormented him. His friends join in as he spends his final days at school pulling off elaborate pranks and schemes. Then his parents tell him the move is off, and Max has to face the people he has just crossed.

Tim Hill directed the film, the second in his filmography after Muppets from Space, working from a screenplay by Jonathan Bernstein, Mark Blackwell and James Greer. Alex D. Linz plays Max, with Larry Miller as Jindraike, Jamie Kennedy as the Evil Ice Cream Man, Zena Grey, Josh Peck and Nora Dunn among a credited cast of 51. The film was produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Karz Entertainment on a budget of about 25 million dollars, and its worldwide box office came to roughly 19 million dollars.

Reception was modest: on IMDb it holds 5.5 out of 10 from about 9,300 votes, and on TMDB 5.9 out of 10 from 177 votes. A critics' rating of 4.7 out of 10 from 55 reviews places it below both audience scores, so the response from reviewers was cooler than that of viewers.
