Veteran detective Seo Do-cheol has spent his career bending rules to get results on the street. When someone he once worked with is badly hurt, his attention turns to Jo Tae-oh, a wealthy young executive and heir to a powerful conglomerate who behaves as though the law cannot touch him. Seo's superiors block his attempts to investigate, so he pursues the case on his own, setting off a contest between a stubborn cop and a man whose money and connections shield him from consequences. Ryoo Seung-wan directed and wrote the film, which followed The Berlin File in his filmography and preceded The Battleship Island. Hwang Jung-min plays Seo, with Yoo Ah-in as Jo Tae-oh and Yoo Hae-jin and Oh Dal-su among the supporting cast.
Made for about 8 million USD, the film took roughly 88 million USD worldwide, a strong return for its budget. It drew 7/10 on IMDb from around 9,200 votes and 6.9/10 on TMDB from 259 votes. A critics' rating of 7.8/10 from nine reviews places it above those audience scores, suggesting reviewers responded to it more warmly than general viewers did.
