Defendor

Arthur Poppington is a man who does not fit easily into ordinary life, but he has invented a role for himself: by night he becomes Defendor, a costumed crime fighter with no special abilities beyond his own determination. He is convinced that a drug dealer he calls Captain Industry is responsible for his mother's death, and he patrols the city looking for him. His path crosses that of Katrina, a young sex worker, and the two form an unlikely partnership. A corrupt police officer and a drug boss move through the same streets, and Arthur's attempts to help pull him into a conflict far more dangerous than he understands.

Peter Stebbings wrote and directed the film, which was released in 2009 and runs 101 minutes. Woody Harrelson plays Arthur and his alter ego, with Kat Dennings as Katrina and Elias Koteas as Chuck Dooney. Kristin Booth, Clark Johnson and Michael Kelly are also among the credited cast, which numbers 24, alongside a crew of 55. The production, mounted by Alliance Films, Darius Films and Insight Film Releasing, was made for about 4 million dollars.
