Friendship!

Set in 1989 following the fall of the Berlin Wall, this comedy-drama follows a young man from East Germany who travels to the United States. Accompanied by his best friend, he journeys from New York toward San Francisco. While he tells his companion they are seeking adventure, his true goal is to find his father, who left for America twelve years prior. The pair faces the challenge of crossing the country with no money and very limited English language skills.

The film was directed by Markus Goller, marking the first entry in a list of five directed features that includes 23 000 Lives. The screenplay was written by Oliver Ziegenbalg.
