Just Wright

Leslie Wright is a physical therapist and a devoted basketball fan who takes on the job of helping Scott McKnight, an NBA star, recover from a knee injury that has put his career in doubt. As they work together, Leslie develops feelings for him, though Scott remains caught up in his relationship with Morgan Alexander, a woman Leslie knows through their families and who has her own designs on the player. The situation forces Leslie to weigh her professional role against her personal attachment.

Sanaa Hamri directed the film, the third of four features she has made, following Something New and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. Michael Elliot wrote the screenplay, and Queen Latifah produced alongside Debra Martin Chase and Shakim Compere. Latifah plays Leslie, with Common as Scott and Paula Patton as Morgan; James Pickens Jr., Phlycia Rashād and Pam Grier appear in supporting roles. The production was handled by Dune Entertainment, Fox Searchlight Pictures, Martin Chase Productions and Flavor Unit Entertainment, and the film runs 101 minutes.

Released on May 14, 2010, Just Wright took in about 22 million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.2 from 112 reviews, while on TMDB it scores 6.6 from 470 votes, a gap that suggests audiences responded to the film more warmly than critics did.
