Precious Cargo

Precious Cargo is a Canadian action crime thriller about a thief pulled back into the criminal world by someone from his past. Jack, an experienced thief, has tried to settle into a quieter life, but Karen, a skilled thief and his former partner, arrives needing help. She has double-crossed Eddie, a crime boss, and now has to make good on the stolen goods or face the consequences. To settle the debt, Jack assembles his crew to intercept a valuable shipment of diamonds. The theft itself succeeds, but the handover goes wrong, and the loyalties among Jack, Karen and Eddie come apart as the three confront each other.

Max Adams directed and co-wrote the screenplay with Paul V. Seetachitt, working with producers George Furla, Randall Emmett and Scott Mann. The cast is led by Bruce Willis as Eddie, Mark-Paul Gosselaar as Jack and Claire Forlani as Karen, with Jenna B. Kelly, Nick Loeb and Daniel Bernhardt in supporting roles. The production had a budget of 11 million US dollars.

The film was released in July 2016 and runs 99 minutes. Reception was weak across the board. On IMDb it holds 4.6 out of 10 from around 10,000 votes, and on TMDB 5.1 out of 10 from roughly 300 votes. A critics' rating of 2.6 out of 10 from 22 reviews places professional assessment below even the modest audience scores.
