Short description
A bank manager finds his stable life disrupted when a former acquaintance convinces him to fake his death. By pretending to have passed away, he is manipulated into abandoning his old existence to embark on a new adventure.
Directed by Steven Brill, this 2016 action comedy is the eighth film in his directorial timeline, following Walk of Shame and preceding Sandy Wexler. The movie stars Adam Sandler as Max Kessler and David Spade as Charlie, with supporting roles played by Paula Patton, Kathryn Hahn, Nick Swardson, and Matt Walsh. The production was a collaboration between the United States and Puerto Rico, involving Happy Madison Productions and Instinctual VFX.
Audience reception was mixed, with a rating of 5.7/10 on IMDb based on 57,000 votes and a matching 5.7/10 on TMDB from 1,644 votes. These viewer scores are notably higher than the rating from film critics, which stands at 3.1/10 based on 22 reviews.
