Casper Meets Wendy

Wendy, a young good witch, and her three aunts flee the vengeful warlock Desmond Spellman and take refuge at a mountain resort. Casper the Friendly Ghost happens to be vacationing there with his three uncles, and despite being told that ghosts and witches are natural enemies, Casper and Wendy become friends. When Desmond's threat follows them, the ghosts and witches join forces to protect Wendy.

Sean McNamara directed this 1998 family fantasy, his second feature in a directing career that now numbers 24 films; it followed Casper: A Spirited Beginning and preceded 3 Ninjas: High Noon at Mega Mountain. Jymn Magon wrote the screenplay and Mike Elliott produced. The cast includes Hilary Duff as Wendy, George Hamilton as Desmond Spellman, Shelley Duvall, Cathy Moriarty and Teri Garr as the aunts, and Jeremy Foley as the voice of Casper, among 24 credited performers. The film runs 90 minutes and was made for television.

The film has a modest reception. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.3 from around 8,700 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 5.9 from roughly 425 votes. A critics' rating of 4.1 from six reviews is lower than both audience scores, suggesting reviewers were harder on the film than viewers were.
