Memories

Memories is a Japanese science fiction anthology consisting of three distinct stories. The first segment follows space travelers who discover a world built from a woman's memories after investigating a distress signal. The second story is a comedy about a young chemist who accidentally becomes a biological weapon threatening Tokyo. The final part depicts a city whose entire existence is dedicated to firing cannons at an unknown enemy.

The film was released in 1995 and was produced by Bandai Visual, Madhouse, Shochiku, and Kodansha. It was written by Katsuhiro Otomo and Satoshi Kon. The project featured three different directors: Koji Morimoto, Katsuhiro Otomo, and Tensai Okamura. For Otomo, this followed Akira and Neo Tokyo. For Morimoto, this was his first directed film before The Animatrix. For Okamura, this preceded his work on the Evangelion series and Cowboy Bebop: The Movie. The voice cast includes Tsutomu Isobe, Koichi Yamadera, Shigeru Chiba, Gara Takashima, Ami Hasegawa, and Hideyuki Hori.
