Ajin: Demi-Human

Kei Nagai is a Japanese medical student whose life changes when he survives a traffic accident that should have killed him. He learns that he belongs to a rare kind of immortal being known as an Ajin, which makes him a target for a society that fears him. Government researchers capture him and subject him to painful experiments, and he eventually escapes with help from other Ajin.

The film is based on Gamon Sakurai's manga series and was directed by Katsuyuki Motohiro, whose earlier work includes Bayside Shakedown, Space Travelers and PSYCHO-PASS: The Movie. Released in Japan in September 2017, it sits between PSYCHO-PASS: The Movie and Laughing Under the Clouds in his filmography. Takeru Satoh plays Kei Nagai, with Go Ayano as Sato, Minami Hamabe as Kei's sister Eriko, Yuki Yamada as Takahashi, Rina Kawaei as Izumi Shimomura and Yudai Chiba as Okuyama. The screenplay was written by Hiroshi Seko, Gamon Sakurai and Masahiro Yamaura.
