The Private Lives of Pippa Lee

The Private Lives of Pippa Lee centers on a woman who has long served as the calm center of her family. Married to Herb Lee, a publisher three decades her senior, she has raised two grown children and earned a reputation as a warm host and trusted confidante. When Herb turns eighty, the couple leaves New York for a retirement community in Connecticut. The move unsettles Pippa, and the orderly life she has built begins to give way as she reckons with a restless past and with a dissatisfaction she has kept hidden.

Rebecca Miller wrote and directed the film, her third feature after Personal Velocity and The Ballad of Jack and Rose. Robin Wright plays Pippa, with Alan Arkin as Herb and Keanu Reeves as Chris Nadeau, alongside Julianne Moore, Winona Ryder and Mike Binder among a credited cast of thirty-three.
