Dennis Mitchell is back, and his neighbour George Wilson is once again the main target of his well-meant chaos. This time Dennis's grandfather, Mr. Johnson, moves in with the family and proves to be just as much of a handful as his grandson. Together the pair turn the neighbourhood upside down, pushing the long-suffering Mr. Wilson to consider moving somewhere quieter. When two con men try to cheat Wilson out of his money, Dennis and his friends step in to stop them.
The film is a direct-to-video family comedy directed by Charles T. Kanganis, released in 1998. It followed his 1994 feature 3 Ninjas Kick Back and came before K-911 (2000) and Impulse (2008). Robert F. Newmyer and Tim McCanlies wrote the screenplay, with McCanlies also producing alongside Jeffrey Silver. Justin Cooper plays Dennis, while Don Rickles and Betty White return as George and Martha Wilson. George Kennedy appears as Mr. Johnson, with Brian Doyle-Murray and Carrot Top among the credited cast of 21.
The film runs 71 minutes. On IMDb it holds a rating of 4.4/10 from around 5,200 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 5.4/10 from 241 votes. Both figures point to a modest reception for this continuation of the mischievous-boy series.
