Fatal is a comedy about Fatal Bazooka, a highly successful rapper known for his hardcore style and extravagant wealth. After achieving massive fame with numerous hits, multiple awards, and various business ventures, he appears to be at the top of the music industry. However, his public persona is a facade. While he claims to have come from a ghetto, he actually grew up in a small village in the French Alps as the son of shepherds, and he struggles to maintain this lie.
The film was directed by Michaël Youn, who also wrote the screenplay and stars as the lead character. This was the first of four films directed by Youn, followed by Vive la France, Divorce Club, and BDE. The cast includes Stéphane Rousseau, Armelle, Ary Abittan, Vincent Desagnat, and Jérôme Le Banner.
Produced by companies including Universal Pictures and Canal+, the movie was a joint Canadian and French production. It had a budget of 17 million USD but earned 9 million USD at the worldwide box office, indicating it did not recoup its production costs. Audience reception was mixed, with a rating of 5.9/10 on IMDb based on 2,900 votes and a slightly higher score of 6/10 on TMDB from 673 votes.
