Carmilla

Set in 19th-century Styria, this drama follows a lonely teenager named Lara who lives in isolation under the care of her father and a strict governess. Her quiet existence changes when a mysterious young woman named Carmilla arrives at the estate following an accident. The two girls form an intense and forbidden romantic bond, but as Lara grows closer to her guest, she begins to lose her vitality. The film was written and directed by Emily Harris, marking her second feature following Three Towers in 2007.
