The Titan

In a near-future world where Earth's resources are running out, the military selects pilot Rick Janssen for a radical experiment. The goal is to adapt a human being to survive the harsh conditions of Titan, one of Saturn's moons, so that humanity might one day relocate there. The early results look promising, as Rick develops abilities beyond the human norm, but the genetic procedure soon produces effects that put him, his wife Abi and those around them at risk.

Lennart Ruff directed the film from a screenplay by Arash Amel and Max Hurwitz. Sam Worthington plays Rick, with Taylor Schilling as Abi, Tom Wilkinson as Professor Martin Collingwood, Agyness Deyn, Nathalie Emmanuel and Corey Johnson among the supporting cast. The production was a British, Spanish and American co-production from Nostromo Pictures, Voltage Pictures, 42 and Motion Picture Capital.

The film was released in March 2018 and runs 97 minutes. Its worldwide box office take of about 3 million dollars was modest for a science-fiction thriller. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.3 out of 10 from roughly 1,365 votes, while the critics' score stands at 3.8 out of 10 from 30 reviews, a narrower and more negative response than that of the general audience.
