Ten-year-old Teddy Cooper receives a video camera for Christmas in 1985, and he promptly turns it on his family. The result is a homemade record of one holiday gathering in a small Canadian town, as the Cooper household and its visiting relatives argue, misbehave and unravel in front of the lens. What begins as an ordinary Christmas morning slides into disorder among the adults, with the boy's camera catching everything.
The comedy was directed by Warren P. Sonoda, his third feature after 5ive Girls in 2007 and Merlin and the Book of Beasts in 2009, and it was written by Mike Beaver and Jason Jones. Jones plays Gord Cooper, with Samantha Bee as Nancy Cooper, Dave Foley as Bill Davidson, Jayne Eastwood as Nana Gert, Beaver as Uncle Nick and Peter Keleghan as Tim Cooper. Nicholas Tabarrok and Sean Buckley produced, and the film was made in Canada with backing from Téléfilm Canada alongside Darius Films and Buck Productions.
On IMDb the film holds a rating of 6 out of 10 from 722 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 4.4 out of 10 from 15 votes.
