Bill & Ted Face the Music

Bill and Ted, the time-travelling friends from San Dimas, California, were once told their music would save the universe. Decades later, they are middle-aged family men who have still not written the song that was prophesied, and their marriages are under strain. When a visitor from the future arrives with a warning that only their song can preserve life as they know it, the two set out on another journey through time, joined by their grown daughters, to find the inspiration they have long lacked.

The film is directed by Dean Parisot, whose earlier features include Home Fries, Galaxy Quest, Fun with Dick and Jane and RED 2; this is the sixth film he has directed. Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson wrote the screenplay, and Solomon produced alongside Scott Kroopf and Steve Ponce. Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter return as Ted and Bill, with Kristen Schaal, Samara Weaving, Brigette Lundy-Paine and William Sadler among the cast.

Made for a budget of 25 million US dollars, the film took about 6 million dollars worldwide, a modest return on its production cost. Audiences rate it 5.9 out of 10 on IMDb, from some 56,000 votes, and 5.9 out of 10 on TMDB, from roughly 1,100 votes, while the film critics' rating stands at 6.8 out of 10 from 267 reviews, noticeably higher than the audience scores.
