Level 16

Level 16 is a Canadian science fiction thriller set in the Vestalis Academy, a boarding school resembling a prison. In this institution, teenage girls are strictly trained in obedience and femininity to become perfect women. The students aim to reach the sixteenth level of the program, as those who succeed may be adopted by high-status families. Vivien, a sixteen-year-old student, begins to question the academy's purpose. Alongside Sophia, a former friend, she seeks to uncover the dark secrets behind their confinement and the nature of the facility.

Written and directed by Danishka Esterhazy, this project followed her previous films Amarantos and Call. The movie features Katie Douglas as Vivien, Celina Martin as Sophia, Peter Outerbridge as Dr. Miro, and Sara Canning as Miss Brixil. The production was handled by Markham Street Films and included a credited cast of 29 people.

Audience reception for the film was generally positive, with a 6.7 rating on TMDB from 758 votes and a 6.1 rating on IMDb based on 19,000 votes. Film critics gave the movie a slightly higher score of 6.9 based on 24 reviews.
