What's left behind the scenes
- The expression “turtles all the way down” means infinite regression. It refers to the assertion that the flat Earth rests on the shell of a world turtle. That turtle, in turn, stands on the shell of another turtle, even larger, that turtle stands on yet another, and so on, ad infinitum.
