Belle épine

Following the death of her mother, seventeen-year-old Prudence finds herself alone in her apartment in Paris. She meets Maryline, a rebellious peer who introduces her to the dangerous world of illegal motorcycle racing on a circuit in Rungis. As Prudence attempts to fit in with this group and disguise her isolation as independence, she develops feelings for a boy named Franck, who takes advantage of her naivety.

This drama was directed by Rebecca Zlotowski and represents the first of six films she has directed. Zlotowski also co-wrote the screenplay with Gaëlle Macé. The movie stars Léa Seydoux as Prudence Friedmann, with Agathe Schlencker as Maryline Santamaria and Johan Libéreau as Franck.
