Cu Li Never Cries

Cu Li Never Cries is a drama that explores the intersections of memory and history in Vietnam. The story follows a woman who receives a pygmy slow loris from a husband she has been estranged from for a long time, prompting her to reflect on her past. Simultaneously, her niece prepares for a wedding while she and her partner contemplate the difficulties of their future together.

The film was directed by Phạm Ngọc Lân, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Nghiêm Quỳnh Trang. This production follows his 2016 film Another City. The cast is led by Minh-Châu, Ngô Xuân An, and Hà Phương, supported by a total of 95 credited actors and a crew of 185 members. A multi-national effort, the project involved production companies from several countries, including Vietnam, the Netherlands, France, Norway, Singapore, the Philippines, and the Netherlands Antilles. Released on November 15, 2024, the movie has a runtime of 93 minutes and blends elements of romance and comedy.
