Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie

A space pirate named Divatox is after a wizard who holds the key to a volcanic island where a dangerous creature, Maligore, lies imprisoned. When she pursues him to Earth, the Turbo Power Rangers take up the fight. They gain new Turbo powers and head toward the island, with Divatox's schemes putting people close to them at risk along the way. The team also brings in a young recruit who learns their secret and joins them as the Blue Ranger.

Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie was released in 1997 and continues the Power Rangers franchise that began on television. Shuki Levy and David Winning directed it, and Levy wrote the screenplay with Shell Danielson. It was the first feature either director made, and Levy's only other film followed a year later. The cast includes Johnny Yong Bosch, Nakia Burrise, Jason David Frank, Catherine Sutherland, Blake Foster and Amy Jo Johnson, with 33 credited performers and 51 credited crew members.

Made for about 8 million dollars, the film took in roughly 10 million worldwide, a modest return. Audiences rate it poorly on IMDb, where 10,000 voters give it 3.7 out of 10, while the smaller TMDB sample of 320 users is more forgiving at 5.8. Critics, across 18 reviews, put it at 3.9 out of 10, close to the IMDb figure and well below the TMDB score.
