Vampires is a mockumentary that follows a television crew as they document the daily lives of a vampire family living in Belgium. Led by the patriarch George and his wife Bertha, the family includes two teenagers who were formerly human. While the son, Samson, embraces a reckless and promiscuous lifestyle, the daughter, Grace, struggles with her undead nature and attempts to mimic human appearance and emotion. The family's routines involve feeding on victims and managing internal conflicts, though a social transgression eventually forces them into exile in Canada.
Directed by Vincent Lannoo, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Frédérique Broos, the film is a Belgian production from Left Field Ventures. The main cast features Carlo Ferrante as George, Vera Van Dooren as Bertha, Pierre Lognay as Samson, and Fleur Lise Heuet as Grace. The production included a credited cast of 32 actors.
Released in 2010, the comedy-horror film has received a moderate reception from viewers. On IMDb, it holds a rating of 6.2/10 based on 1,100 votes, while on TMDB, it has a lower score of 5.3/10 from 23 votes.
