Three teenage girls in Finland navigate their identities and femininity over the course of three consecutive Fridays. Best friends Mimmi and Rönkkö seek adventurous experiences and passion, while the ambitious figure skater Emma focuses entirely on her athletic success. After the three meet, their lives shift in new directions as Mimmi and Emma encounter the effects of first love and Rönkkö searches for physical pleasure.

Girl Picture was directed by Alli Haapasalo, marking the first of two films she has directed. The screenplay was written by Daniela Hakulinen and Ilona Ahti, and the film was produced by Elina Pohjola and Leila Lyytikäinen through Citizen Jane Productions.
