Sophie Malaterre, a fashion professional from Montreal, uses a website to trade homes with a stranger for her summer vacation. She moves into a Paris apartment owned by Bénédicte Serteaux, but her stay quickly turns into a nightmare. Shortly after arriving, police arrest her after discovering a decapitated body in the home. Because evidence of her true identity has been erased, Sophie struggles to prove to Detective Damien Forgeat that she is not the apartment's owner.
