American Reunion
Short description
American Reunion brings the characters of the American Pie series back to their hometown of East Great Falls, Michigan, for a high school reunion. Jim and Michelle are now married and raising a young son; Kevin and Vicky have parted ways; Oz and Heather have drifted apart; Finch has been travelling the world; and Stifler remains much as he always was. Over one weekend, the friends confront how their lives have changed and how much of the old group has stayed the same, while familiar faces from their past reappear.
Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg directed and wrote the film, their second feature after Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay in 2008. Jason Biggs, Alyson Hannigan, Seann William Scott, Chris Klein, Thomas Ian Nicholas and Tara Reid lead a credited cast of 72. The film arrived in 2012, more than a decade after the original, and cost about 50 million US dollars to make, going on to earn roughly 235 million worldwide.
On IMDb it holds 6.7 out of 10 from about 233,000 votes, and on TMDB 6.3 from just under 5,000 votes. A critics' rating of 5.2 from 184 reviews places it below both audience scores.

- Famous New England Patriots American football player Chad Ochocinco appears in a cameo as himself.
- This is the fifth film with the word "American" in the title in Mena Suvari's career. In addition to the first two "Pies," she also starred in the comedy "American Virgin" (1999) and the drama "American Beauty" (1999).
- All three of the first installments of 'American Pie' were released in early August, while the fourth came out at Easter in the first half of April.
- "All in the Gathering" is the first of four "American Pies" where the screenplay was not written by Adam Herz. He remained on the project as an executive producer and oversaw the work of screenwriters John Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg.
- The beach scenes were filmed in late July 2011 on the shore of Lake Lanier reservoir in Georgia with the participation of 100 extras. Producers believed that its shores visually differed little from the coast of Lake Michigan, where the film's action is supposed to take place. Local authorities received $23,000 as compensation for providing the location for filming and related inconveniences.
- The school scenes were filmed from July 11 to 15, 2011, at Newton High School in the small town of Covington, Georgia. They involved 200 extras, primarily local residents. The production company paid the Newton County school administration ten thousand dollars for the use of school facilities.
