Set in western Finland, this drama follows Mariia as she returns to her childhood home two decades after a pivotal period in her youth. The story alternates between the present and 1986, the year the Chernobyl disaster occurred. During that summer, a fifteen-year-old Mariia experienced her first love when a new arrival named Mimi entered her life. While returning home to care for her sick mother, the adult Mariia confronts memories of that season and the subsequent autumn to resolve long-standing feelings of guilt.
Directed by Inari Niemi and written by Juuli Niemi, the film features a cast including Laura Birn as the adult Mariia, Rebekka Baer as the teenage Mariia, and Anni Iikkanen as Mimi. Other roles are played by Pirjo Lonka, Anna-Leena Sipilä, and Janne Reinikainen. The production was handled by Lucy Loves Drama and involved a credited crew of 76 people and a cast of 26.
