One Fine Morning centres on Sandra, a young mother in Paris raising her eight-year-old daughter on her own while her father, Georg, declines with a neurodegenerative illness. Much of her life is taken up with the search for a suitable care home for him, a struggle shared with the rest of the family. In the middle of this, she meets Clément, an old friend she had lost touch with, and the two begin an affair even though he is already in a relationship.
The film is written and directed by Mia Hansen-Løve, arriving after Eden, Things to Come and Bergman Island in her filmography. Léa Seydoux plays Sandra, with Pascal Greggory as Georg, Melvil Poupaud as Clément, Nicole Garcia as Françoise and Camille Leban Martins as Linn. It runs 112 minutes and was produced through a French, German and British partnership.
On IMDb the film holds 6.9/10 from roughly 8,900 votes, and on TMDB 6.4/10 from about 179 votes. A critics' rating of 8.2/10 across 149 reviews places it noticeably above those audience scores. Its worldwide box office was around 1 million USD, modest for a release of this kind.
