Mira Ray, dealing with the loss of her fiancé, sends a series of romantic texts to his old cell phone number… not realizing the number was reassigned to Rob Burns' new work phone. A journalist, Rob is captivated by the honesty in the beautifully confessional texts. When he’s assigned to write a profile of megastar Céline Dion, he enlists her help in figuring out how to meet Mira in person and win her heart.
What's left behind the scenes
- The man with whom Priyanka Chopra Jonas's character, Mira, has a disastrous date was played by the actress's husband, Nick Jonas. According to her, she read the script and immediately told her husband that he would have to play the role because she wouldn't be able to film that scene with anyone else.
- Sam Heughan's character is named Bob Burns, just like the famous Scottish poet Robert Burns (1759-1796).
- Nick Jonas, who appeared in a cameo role, was the only American in the cast of the film, despite the story taking place in New York. The movie was filmed in the UK, so it proved cheaper to cast British actors and hire a linguist to help them master American accents than to bring American actors to the UK.
