DC Showcase: Catwoman is a short animated film in which Selina Kyle, better known as Catwoman, sets out to trace a mysterious shipment of cargo. Her investigation brings her into conflict with a Gotham City crime boss known as Rough Cut.
The film runs fifteen minutes and was released in October 2011. It was directed by Lauren Montgomery, who had by then built a run of DC animated features beginning with Superman: Doomsday in 2007 and continuing through Wonder Woman, Green Lantern: First Flight, Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths, Superman/Batman: Apocalypse, Batman: Year One and Green Lantern: Emerald Knights; this short followed those and preceded Justice League: Doom in 2012. Montgomery also produced, and Paul Dini wrote the screenplay. Eliza Dushku voices Catwoman and Selina Kyle, with John DiMaggio as Roughcut, Liliana Mumy as Holly Robinson, Kevin Michael Richardson as Moe, Tara Strong as Buttermilk Skye and Cree Summer as Lily. The production came from DC Entertainment, DC Comics, Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Premiere.
Audience response places the film in moderate territory: it holds a rating of 6.8 out of 10 on IMDb from around four thousand votes, and 6.9 out of 10 on TMDB from a much smaller base of a few hundred. The two figures sit close together, indicating a similar reception across both.
