A threat against the Tokyo governor precedes the opening of a new subway line, and a bomb attack on the tunnel is narrowly averted. Conan Edogawa and the Detective Boys travel with Professor Agasa through the new line, and Conan's quick action keeps the train and its passengers out of danger. He suspects the attack is tied to a village that was moved years earlier for a dam project, so he and his friends head to the snow-covered countryside, where a death and an old coma point toward something larger than a single bomber.
Yasuichiro Yamamoto directed the film, the eighth of fourteen titles he directed in chronological order, following The Lost Ship in the Sky and preceding The Eleventh Striker. Kobun Shizuno is also credited as director, the second of fourteen films he directed, after Fist of the North Star: The Legend of Kenshiro. Kazunari Kouchi wrote the screenplay, and the voice cast includes Minami Takayama as Conan, Kappei Yamaguchi as Shinichi Kudo, Wakana Yamazaki as Ran Mouri, Rikiya Koyama as Kogoro Mouri and Megumi Hayashibara as Ai Haibara.
Released in Japan in April 2011, the film took about 43 million dollars worldwide. It holds a 6.6 rating from roughly 2,400 votes on IMDb and a 7.1 rating from around 158 votes on TMDB.
