Bones and All

Maren, a young woman who has learned to survive on the margins of society, sets out across America in search of the father she never knew after her mother leaves. On the road she meets Lee, a disenfranchised drifter, and the two form a bond that becomes a first love. Their journey carries them through the backroads of Ronald Reagan's America, but neither can escape the pasts that haunt them, and a final reckoning will decide whether their feelings can outlast the things that set them apart.

Luca Guadagnino directed Bones and All, his eighth film in chronological order, following Suspiria and preceding Challengers. David Kajganich wrote the screenplay and produced alongside Guadagnino and Peter Spears. Taylor Russell plays Maren and Timothée Chalamet plays Lee, with Mark Rylance, Anna Cobb, André Holland and David Gordon Green among the credited cast of thirty-one; the crew numbered 107. The Italy-United States co-production was made for 16 million dollars and returned 15 million dollars worldwide, a modest result against its cost.

Audience response has been generally favorable: on IMDb the film holds 6.8/10 from 73,000 votes, and on TMDB it stands at 7/10 from 1,704 votes. A critics' rating of 7.5/10 from 293 reviews places professional assessment slightly above the audience scores.
