Short description
The Words follows young writer Rory Jansen who finally achieves long sought after literary success after publishing the next great American novel. There's only one catch - he didn't write it. As the past comes back to haunt him and his literary star continues to rise, Jansen is forced to confront the steep price that must be paid for stealing another man's work, and for placing ambition and success above life's most fundamental three words.
What's left behind the scenes
- Rosamund Pike auditioned for the role that Olivia Wilde eventually received.
- Lee Sternthal and Brian Klagman wrote the screenplay back in 1999. Being friends with Bradley Cooper, before he gained fame after 'The Hangover' (2009), they asked him to play the lead role. He agreed then and kept his word more than 10 years later.
- When Rory and Dora are arguing in the alley behind the restaurant, Rory's words don't match his lip movements.
- In the scene where Rory and the old man are in the greenhouse, the button on the old man's collar is alternately undone and done up.
- The second hand on Rory's watch stops at 40 seconds and doesn't move when he is drunk in the apartment.
- Canada Post trucks can be spotted in two different scenes in New York.
- At the 44th minute, the old man's almost-smoked cigarette becomes whole with a change of shot.
