Bachelorette

Bachelorette follows three friends, Regan, Gena and Katie, who were inseparable in high school and whose sharp tongues once made life difficult for a classmate named Becky. Years later, Becky is the first of them to get married, and she asks the trio to serve as bridesmaids. During the wild night surrounding her bachelorette party, events spiral well beyond what anyone planned, and the three women end up racing around New York trying to set things right before the ceremony. The film is a comedy about old resentments and reluctant loyalty, with Kirsten Dunst as Regan, Lizzy Caplan as Gena, Isla Fisher as Katie and Rebel Wilson as Becky. James Marsden and Adam Scott appear among a credited cast of 26, and the production involved 188 credited crew members.

The film was released in 2012 and runs 87 minutes. It was written and directed by Leslye Headland and produced by Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Jessica Elbaum. It is the first of the two features Headland has directed, followed by Sleeping with Other People in 2015.

Made for about 3 million dollars, it took roughly 12 million dollars worldwide, a return that made it a commercial success at that scale. Audience response has been moderate: the film holds a rating of 5.3 out of 10 on IMDb from around 50,000 votes and 5.4 out of 10 on TMDB from a much smaller base of 1,261 votes. A critics' rating of 5.6 out of 10 from 99 reviews places professional reaction slightly above the audience scores on both platforms.
