Sleepwalk with Me

Sleepwalk with Me follows Matt, an aspiring stand-up comedian whose career has stalled and whose long-term relationship is under strain. As the pressure of his personal and professional life builds, he begins to suffer from increasingly severe episodes of sleepwalking, which he tries to dismiss rather than confront. The film draws on autobiographical material, with Matt's anxieties surfacing in ways he can no longer overlook.

Mike Birbiglia directed the film, his first feature, and stars as Matt. He wrote the screenplay with Seth Barrish and Ira Glass, and Glass produced with Jacob Jaffke. The supporting cast includes Lauren Ambrose, James Rebhorn, Carol Kane, Cristin Milioti and Aya Cash, among 43 credited performers. The film runs 81 minutes and was produced in the United States by Sleepwalkers Anonymous and This American Life. It was released in August 2012 and took about 2 million dollars worldwide.

On IMDb it holds a rating of 6.7 from roughly 12,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.5 from about 203 votes. A critics' rating of 7.2 from 114 reviews places it somewhat above those audience scores. Birbiglia went on to direct Don't Think Twice in 2016.
