Table for Six

Table for Six is a Hong Kong comedy about three half-siblings who gather for regular dinners. Steve, the eldest, takes particular pleasure in these meals with his younger brother Bernard and their younger sibling Lung. The arrangement is disrupted when Steve's former girlfriend Monica arrives at the table as Bernard's new partner, turning the family dinner into an awkward ordeal. Steve's part-time girlfriend Meow, meanwhile, tries to keep the situation from boiling over.

Sunny Chan Wing-Sun directed and wrote the film, his first time in the director's chair. He followed it with a sequel in 2024. The cast is led by Dayo Wong as Steve, alongside Stephy Tang Lai-Yan, Louis Cheung, Lin Min-Chen, Peter Chan Charm-man and Ivana Wong, with 27 actors credited in total. Bill Kong Chi-Keung and Ivy Ho Wan-Ming produced.

Released in September 2022, the film runs 116 minutes and mixes comedy, drama, romance and family themes. It took in about 10 million US dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds a 6.9 rating from roughly 1,400 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 6.8 from a much smaller base of 44 votes, so the two audiences agree closely despite the difference in how many people weighed in.
