Short description
After the death of her father in a car accident, teenager India Stoker lives with her unstable mother, Evie, on the family's isolated rural property. A man she has never met, her uncle Charlie, arrives unannounced and moves into the house. India's suspicion of his motives gradually gives way to fascination with the charming and sinister newcomer as she senses how much they have in common. The film is a drama and thriller with horror elements, and it was written by Wentworth Miller.
Park Chan-wook directed; it stands eighth in the chronological list of his features, arriving between Thirst and The Handmaiden. Mia Wasikowska plays India, Nicole Kidman plays Evie, Matthew Goode plays Charlie, and Dermot Mulroney appears as Richard Stoker, with Jacki Weaver and Lucas Till in supporting roles.
