All the Boys Love Mandy Lane

Mandy Lane is a high school student in Texas who keeps to herself and has little interest in the partying going on around her. That does not stop the boys at school from wanting her attention, and when a group of classmates invites her to spend a weekend at a remote ranch, she agrees to go. The trip turns into a gathering full of drinking, drugs and hookups, while the quiet ranch hand Garth stays on the edges of the group. Before long, the teenagers begin dying one by one.

The film stars Amber Heard as Mandy, with Michael Welch, Whitney Able, Anson Mount, Edwin Hodge and Aaron Himelstein in supporting roles. It was directed by Jonathan Levine from a screenplay by Jacob Forman, and produced by Felipe Marino, Joe Neurauter and Chad Feehan through Occupant Films. It runs 90 minutes and was Levine's first feature, arriving several years before 50/50 and Warm Bodies.

Released in 2006, the film drew a worldwide box office of about 2 million dollars. On IMDb and TMDB, audience scores sit at roughly the middle of the scale, and a similar average comes from critics across 65 reviews, so the response was mixed rather than enthusiastic. The main draw is Heard at the center of a slasher story that mixes a teen party setting with a mystery about who is doing the killing.
