The Babymakers

Tommy Macklin and his wife Audrey are trying to have a baby, but months of effort lead to the discovery that Tommy is infertile. He once donated sperm to a bank years earlier, partly to pay for Audrey's engagement ring, so he sets out to reclaim that sample. When the bank tells him the deposit has already been sold, Tommy turns to his friends and recruits a criminal to help him stage a robbery and take it back.

The comedy was directed by Jay Chandrasekhar, working from a screenplay by Peter Gaulke and Gerry Swallow, with Chandrasekhar also producing alongside Jason Blum and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones. It is the fifth film he directed, following Super Troopers, Club Dread, The Dukes of Hazzard and Beerfest. Paul Schneider and Olivia Munn play the couple, with Kevin Heffernan, Wood Harris, Nat Faxon and Chandrasekhar in supporting roles.

Released in August 2012, the film runs 98 minutes. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5 out of 10 from around 9,000 votes, and on TMDB it sits at 5 out of 10 from about 145 votes, indicating a modest audience response. A critics' rating of 3.5 out of 10 from some 50 reviews places it below even those middling audience scores.
