Bad Newz

Bad Newz is an Indian romantic comedy about Saloni Bagga, a chef whose brief marriage to social media influencer Akhil Chadha ends in divorce. She later becomes involved with hotelier Gurbir Pannu, and after sleeping with both men she finds herself pregnant. A rare medical occurrence means she is expecting twins conceived by two different fathers, leaving the question of paternity unresolved between the two men.

The film is directed by Anand Tiwari, who also shares producing duties with Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta, from a screenplay by Ishita Moitra and Tarun Dudeja. It stars Vicky Kaushal as Akhil, Tripti Dimri as Saloni and Ammy Virk as Gurbir, with Neha Dhupia, Sheeba Chaddha and Faisal Rashid in supporting roles. Twenty-one cast members and forty-two crew members are credited.

Released in July 2024, the film runs 140 minutes. On IMDb it holds a rating of 4.7 from around 28,000 votes, while on TMDB its rating is 4.8 from a much smaller base of 31 votes. A critics' rating of 5.1 from 15 reviews places it in similar territory to the audience scores. Made for a reported budget of 10 million dollars, it returned about 2 million dollars worldwide, meaning it did not recoup its production costs at the box office.
