All of Us Strangers

All of Us Strangers centres on Adam, a screenwriter living in a nearly empty tower block in present-day London. A chance meeting with Harry, a neighbour, breaks the routine of his solitary life, and the two men grow close. At the same time, Adam travels back to the suburban house where he grew up and finds his long-dead parents there, apparently the same age they were when they died more than thirty years earlier. The film moves between his present-day relationship and these encounters with the past, leaving it unclear how much of what he experiences is real.

Andrew Haigh wrote and directed the film, following Weekend, 45 Years, Looking: The Movie and Lean on Pete in his filmography. The cast is led by Andrew Scott as Adam and Paul Mescal as Harry, with Jamie Bell and Claire Foy as his parents and Carter John Grout as the young Adam. Graham Broadbent, Peter Czernin and Sarah Harvey produced. The film was made for about 5 million USD and took roughly 20 million USD worldwide.

Reception was strong. On IMDb it holds 7.6/10 from around 78,000 votes, while on TMDB it has 7.4/10 from about 1,100 votes. A film critics' rating of 8.8/10 from 274 reviews places it well above both audience scores, suggesting critics responded to it more warmly than general viewers did.
