What's left behind the scenes
- For the sake of historical accuracy, the project's creators consulted with members of the racial and social justice organization "IllumiNative," as well as representatives of the Pawnee people. Actress and executive producer Emily Blunt stated at the premiere that they had all approved the miniseries.
- Three months before filming began, Emily Blunt learned how to ride a horse, but during production, she had to take antihistamines because she is allergic to horses.
