She's All That
Short description
She's All That centers on Zach Siler, a popular high school senior whose status takes a hit when his girlfriend Taylor leaves him for a reality television personality. Determined to restore his reputation, Zach makes a bet with a friend that he can turn any girl at school into prom queen within six weeks. The girl he chooses is Laney Boggs, an artistic outsider with little interest in school social life. As Zach works to give her a new look and win her classmates' attention, the arrangement grows more complicated than the wager that started it.
The film was directed by Robert Iscove and written by R. Lee Fleming Jr. It followed Iscove's earlier work on Without Warning and Cinderella, and came before Boys and Girls and Spectacular!. Freddie Prinze Jr. plays Zach, with Rachael Leigh Cook as Laney, Paul Walker as Dean Sampson, Jodi Lyn O'Keefe as Taylor Vaughan, Kevin Pollak as Wayne Boggs and Anna Paquin as Mackenzie Siler, among a credited cast of 62.
Released in January 1999, the film had a budget of 10 million dollars and took in about 103 million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds a rating of 6 out of 10 from around 113,000 votes, while on TMDB it has 6.3 out of 10 from roughly 2,300 votes. A critics' rating of 5.3 out of 10 from 61 reviews places it somewhat below the audience scores.
