The Gods Must Be Crazy II

Xixo, a San bushman living in the Kalahari, finds his young children accidentally trapped aboard a truck belonging to poachers, and he sets off across the desert to bring them home. His journey repeatedly collides with outsiders: an American lawyer and a zoologist whose small plane has come down in a baobab tree, and two soldiers who cannot agree on which of them has captured the other. The film follows these separate strands as the bushman, the stranded travellers and the soldiers all work toward their own resolutions.

Jamie Uys wrote and directed the film, his third feature as director after Animals Are Beautiful People and The Gods Must Be Crazy. N!xau returns as Xixo, with Lena Farugia as Dr. Ann Taylor, Hans Strydom as Dr. Stephen Marshall, and Eiros and Nadies as the children Xiri and Xisa.

Made for a budget of about 8 million dollars, the film took roughly 10 million dollars worldwide. Its rating on TMDB stands at 7.1 out of 10 from 579 votes, indicating a modest but steady following rather than wide acclaim. It was produced by Boet Troskie through Elrina Investment with Weintraub Entertainment Group, and shot among the landscapes of Botswana, the United States and South Africa.
