The Lookout

A police inspector is on the verge of capturing a notorious gang of bank robbers when a skilled sniper intervenes from a rooftop. By firing on the officers, the marksman allows his partners to escape, although a serious injury to one of the thieves complicates their plans. This leads to a massive manhunt led by the inspector, while the criminals face increasing difficulties in their escape.

Directed by Michele Placido, this action crime film is the second entry in a list of six directed works, following Romanzo Criminale. The production was a collaboration between France, Belgium, and Italy, with companies including StudioCanal and RAI. The movie stars Daniel Auteuil as Mattei and Mathieu Kassovitz as Vincent Kaminski, alongside Olivier Gourmet, Francis Renaud, Nicolas Briançon, and Jérôme Pouly.
