Short description
Will is looking for an escape from his family when he encounters Lee, the school bully. Armed with a video camera and a copy of Rambo, Lee plans to make his own action-packed video epic.
What's left behind the scenes
- According to director Garth Jennings, in the scene at the beginning of the film where Will Poulter hums quietly, the actor's humming was redubbed and replaced with his own during final editing. This was done because Bill Milner was humming something by Kraftwerk, and the filmmakers did not have the rights to use that composition.
- According to director Garth Jennings, the yellow sticker on Will's bicycle indicated that the item was a prop intended for filming. It was simply forgotten to be removed.
- One of Didier’s companions had to be given sunglasses because, according to the director, he was constantly looking directly into the camera.
- In the scene where Will is drawing in bed while humming, it was actually Garth Jennings who was humming. Initially, Bill Milner was humming himself, however, it turned out that he was humming a song by Kraftwerk during filming, and permission to use that composition could not be obtained.
- On the bus taking the French exchange students away, a yellow and blue European Union license plate is visible in the background. The European Union did not exist in 1983.
- Sylvester Stallone was fully behind the production of this film and the title “Son of Rambo,” however, he did not own the trademark, so he had to add the letter “w” to the end of the word.
