The Wash

Sean is behind on his rent and his car has been booted, so he needs money quickly. His roommate and close friend Dee Loc points him toward the local car wash, where Dee Loc already works. Sean takes the job, but the arrangement soon strains their friendship, partly because Sean ends up supervising the man who brought him in, and the two have to set aside their dispute when their boss is abducted.

The Wash is a 2001 American action comedy directed by DJ Pooh, who also wrote the screenplay and produced it with Philip G. Atwell and Rick Freeman. It was his second film as director, following 3 Strikes the previous year. The cast is led by Dr. Dre as Sean and Snoop Dogg as Dee Loc, with DJ Pooh as Slim, Angell Conwell as Antoinette, Bruce Bruce as Dewayne and Tommy Lister Jr. as Bear, among 33 credited performers and 85 credited crew members.

The film runs 97 minutes and was made for about 7 million dollars, going on to take roughly 10 million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds a critics' rating of 3 out of 10 from 50 reviews, while on TMDB its audience rating stands at 5.8 out of 10 from 143 votes, a gap that suggests viewers responded more favourably than reviewers did.
