Charlie Bellow is a reserved college student in the Midwest whose life is already mapped out, from his business studies to a future job at the Tiller King Company. His friend Leo keeps pushing him to approach women, but Charlie has little experience with them. That changes when he meets Jordan Roark on a subway platform, where she is in a drunken and precarious state and he steps in to help her.
The relationship that follows is an intense and erratic one, marked by romantic stretches and sudden breakups, as Charlie tries to hold on to a woman who proves difficult to understand. The film is based on the 2001 Korean movie of the same name, and it was directed by Yann Samuell, whose previous feature was Love Me If You Dare in 2003. Elisha Cuthbert plays Jordan and Jesse Bradford plays Charlie, with Austin Basis, Chris Sarandon, Jay Patterson and Tom Aldredge in supporting roles. Victor Levin wrote the screenplay.
Released in May 2008 and running 96 minutes, the film holds a rating of 6.8 out of 10 on TMDB across roughly 420 votes, a modest but positive reception for a romantic comedy from that period.
